Chennai Fog: Residents of Chennai in Tamil Nadu woke up to a layer of fog blanketing the city on Sunday morning. Visuals shared by news agency ANI showed that visibility dipped considerably early in the morning. Flight services were affected at Chennai Airport due to the same, news agency PTI reported.






Before daylight broke, the city was covered in a dense layer of fog.






Due to the dense fog in Chennai, flight services were affected at Chennai Airport. 







Indigo Airlines posted on X that flight operations might have been impacted due to the weather and passengers should check the status of their flight.






Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday informed that the sky is likely to be partly cloudy, with the possibility of mist or haze prevailing in some areas during the early morning hours.

The IMD said that dry weather is very likely to prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, which is likely to remain the same in the following week.


The Meteorological department informed that conditions are expected to become conducive for the cessation of the Northeast Monsoon rains over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and the adjacent regions of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, and South Interior Karnataka around January 15, 2024.
