AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami condemned Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar over his statement against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. The comment of EPS comes after Shivakumar said that there was no question of releasing Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu at any cost.

Former TN Chief Minister and Opposition leader Palaniswami criticised Karnataka BJP for blaming the Congress government regarding the release of water to the state. In a social media statement, he condemned Shivakumar and Karnataka BJP leader CT Ravi for supplying Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

Taking to X, Edappadi said, "I strongly condemn the highly objectionable remarks made by Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Karnataka BJP leader CT Ravi over providing Cauvery water to Tamilnadu. This reflects the historic dual stand and hypocritical nature of National Parties in inter-state issues."

"Unlike the DMK, which has been continuously mute and giving up the rights of the state," EPS said adding, "AIADMK has continuously been firm in ensuring the rights of the people of Tamil Nadu and shall never allow any measures that would lead to the #Desertification of the entire #CauveryDelta region of Tamil Nadu."
