Nine people surrendered in Egmore Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, in connection with the murder of BJP functionary PPG Shankar on Friday. Vallarpuram village panchayat leader and BJP SC/ST Wing state treasurer, PPG Shankar, was hacked to death by a mob on Thursday.
According to ANI, "Tamil Nadu | Nine people have surrendered in Egmore Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, in connection with BJP functionary PPG Shankar's murder, say police officials. Vallarpuram village panchayat leader and BJP SC/ST Wing state treasurer, PPG Shankar was hacked to death by a mob yesterday.”

PPG Shankar's murder
On Thursday night, when PPG Shankar was returning home from a wedding, assailants waylaid and dropped crude bombs near the vehicle. They later started to attack him with knives and sickles. They then hacked him to death at Nazarathpettai.
Based on the information, the police reached the spot and started the investigation. They also registered a case and sent the body for autopsy.
TN BJP Chief Annamalai Condoles Death
Taking to social media, Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai said, "I was very shocked to hear the news that Valarpuram Panchayat Council President and state treasurer of State Schedule Caste (SC) wing PPG Shankar has been hacked to death by anti-social elements."
It is clear from the daily crime incidents that law and order are not under control under the DMK regime, he said.
