In a display of solidarity, leaders and workers of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) staged a protest in Chennai against the recent arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday.

During the protest, prominent DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran voiced strong condemnation, stating, "We condemn the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal." Maran criticised what he perceived as a misuse of power by authorities, asserting, "They don't want any opposition for them. They are scared. They will not win again. So, in order to win, they are using a backdoor entrance."

Expressing concern over the alleged misuse of institutions like the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Maran urged for a democratic electoral process and emphasized, "Face the election in a democratic way. Don't abuse powers you have." He highlighted the importance of accountability, noting, "People of India are watching you; they will give you a prompt answer."
