Chennai: Oscar-award-winning music director AR Rahman unveiled his independent Tamil anthem 'Moopilla Thamizhe Thaaye' on his youtube page Maaja on Friday. The Tamil anthem is an ode to Tamil language, the culture and the heritage of Tamilians. 


The anthem song opens with AR Rahman's voice and visuals. The track also features artists including Rakshitha, Saindhavi Prakash, Khatija Rahman, AR Ameen, Poovaiyar and Amina Rafiq among others. 


The song was penned by Tamarai celebrating the history of Tamil language.

The teaser of the anthem directed by Amith Krishnan and produced by AR Rahman was first released in April last year. 


On Friday, AR Rahman also displayed the song to TN CM Stalin at his studio in Dubai. TN CM Stalin who is on a 4-day visit to Dubai watched the song along with his wife Durga Stalin, son Udhayanidhi Stalin and daughter-in-law Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi.

Along with AR Rahman, the music director's son Ameen and daughter Khatija were also present. 


Taking to Twitter, CM Stalin said, "My friend AR Rahman called me and showed me his album 'Moopilla Tamil Thayee' at his studio. There is no limit to Tamil and music in the world!"



The anthem also rekindled the memory of the Semmozhi Tamil Anthem composed by AR Rahman and penned by the then TN CM Karunanidhi.
