Actor Ajith's father P Subramaniam passed away due to age-related ailments in Chennai. The actor's father was 85 years old.
P Subramaniam was a Palakkad Malayali from Kerala. He is survived by his wife Mohini and three children including Ajith Kumar.
In a joint statement, P Subramanian's sons, Anup Kumar, Ajith Kumar and Anil Kumar, said, "PS Mani passed away in his sleep after being bed-ridded for several days. We are grateful to all the doctors who stood with us and our father who suffered from paralysis for the past four years."
"We are comforted at this time of grief that he lived a good life and knew the undying love of our mother, his partner of nearly six decades," they said.
The brothers said: "We appreciate all the messages from you but please be understanding that we may not be able to respond to the messages. His last rites will be held in the presence of family. Therefore, everyone who learned about the death, please understand our loss and let us grieve privately."
After the news of the demise, TN CM Stalin expressed his condolences to the family members. Taking to social media, Stalin said, “I am saddened to hear the news of actor Ajith Kumar's father Subramaniam due to ill health. I extend My deepest condolences to Ajith Kumar who is suffering from the loss of his father.”
The fans of the actor have also flooded social media with condolence messages.
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar who was on a trip with his family members in Europe is likely to reach Chennai soon.
