Chennai: AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam, co-coordinator Edappadi Palaniswami and ousted AIADMK leader Sasikala are holding separate consultations with their supporters over the demand of the cadre to bring the party under a unitary leader. Currently, the party is led by two leaders including former TN CM Edappadi K Palaniswami and former Deputy CM O Panneerselvam and follows a dual leadership model.

According to ABP Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami is currently holding talks with his supporters on his home turf of Salem district. On Thursday morning, the supporters of Palaniswami surrounded his home and raised slogans supporting the leader and his leadership of the party.

On the other hand, AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam was holding consultations with his supporters in Theni for the past two days. On Thursday, OPS arrived at the party office while EPS was in Salem as a show of strength.

Amid the emerging possibility of VK Sasikala’s entry back to the party fold, reports also suggested that ousted AIADMK leader Sasikala called upon her supporters to discuss about the unitary leadership of the party on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the issue over unitary leadership started after some of the senior leaders demanded that the party must go back to the old days of a single leadership as dual leadership was creating difficulties for the party.
