Big Relief for Domestic consumer of Electricity in Uttarakhand: Energy Minister Harak Singh Rawat has made a big announcement in the first meeting of the Energy Department. In Uttarakhand, domestic electricity consumers will not have to pay any bill up to 100 units every month. Beyond that, energy consumption up to 200 units will be charged at only 50%. Harak Singh Rawat made this announcement in his meeting. Harak Singh Rawat said that this proposal will be placed in the cabinet soon.


Proposal to be brought in cabinet


Harak Singh Rawat has also talked about bringing commercial consumers of dairy, horticulture, agriculture sectors into the domestic category. On Wednesday, July 7, Energy Minister Harak Singh Rawat made this big announcement in the first meeting of the Energy Department. The officials of the Energy Department have been instructed to prepare a proposal in this regard. After the proposal is made, it will be brought to the cabinet.


Big plans ahead of the election year


Taking New Delhi as an example, the Aam Aadmi Party had demanded that the Uttarakhand government should provide free electricity to domestic consumers. For the same issue, the Aam Aadmi Party has demonstrated many times. The party had claimed that if their government wins in Uttarakhand, it will give free electricity here just as they provide free power in Delhi. This big announcement made by the Energy Minister just before the assembly elections is noteworthy.


Benefits to the consumers


There are about 13 lakh electricity consumers in Uttarakhand who consume 100 to 200 units of electricity every month. These consumers will benefit from this new scheme. For these people, electricity spending will become free of cost on consuming up to 100 units every month. People living in remote rural areas of Uttarakhand will get a big relief because the bill of domestic consumers here remains only between100 units or between 100 to 200 units.
