Akhilesh Yadav on Viral Fever in Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav claimed on Monday that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is making false claims that 'all is well' in the state, despite many children losing their lives to dengue and viral fever.

He further said, "The BJP government is not paying attention to the health services in UP, which are on the verge of collapsing."

In a statement issued from the SP headquarters on Monday, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, "Dengue and Viral Fever are wreaking havoc in the state. Hospitals are full and health services are on the verge of collapse as children are losing their lives to the illnesses. Despite all of this, the ruling BJP government and the Chief Minister are falsely claiming that "All is well". The BJP government is not at all attentive towards UP's health services, which are on the verge of collapse.

Akhilesh added, "Dengue and Viral fever have already claimed hundreds of innocent lives in Western Uttar Pradesh. Now, this outbreak is rapidly spreading all over UP. Hospitals all over the state capital Lucknow are filled and healthcare infrastructure is on the blink of collapse. The stock of medicines in the state is also depleting, owing to the deteriorating condition in the state. Even the seriously ill are unable to get a bed at the hospitals. Due to the unavailability of hospital beds, people are unable to receive even basic first aid at hospitals."

The former Chief Minister claimed that "The outbreak has spread to many districts including Firozabad, Mathura, Mainpuri, Kanpur, Farrukhabad. Political advertisements are trying to drown the cries of help by mothers who have lost or losing their children to the outbreak, all thanks to the BJP government. In Mathura, a father whose child was on deathbed was seen requesting authorities for medical support. A handicapped woman is pleading for treatment with her infant child in her lap, who was thrown out of the hospital instead of getting medical treatment."

Citing many examples of patients and their family members unable to receive medical support at hospitals and government medical centers, Yadav attacked the state's ruling BJP government by saying that they lacked basic sentiment and accountability towards the people of UP, a fact which was exposed during this viral fever and dengue outbreak in the state.

The former Chief Minister alleged that BJP's towards public healthcare facilities has triggered widespread ire and anger in the public. He claimed that the oppressive and divisive BJP government would never again come into power in UP. Akhilesh Yadav made an open declaration that he is sure that his party would gain power in 2022, with massive public support.
