Rampur: You might have heard the saying 'young at heart' now an elderly couple from Uttar Pradesh has just proved that. In Rampur, a 90-year-old man married a 75-year-old woman. The elderly man is a father to five daughters.
The former wife of 90-year-old Shafi Ahmed, a resident of Narkhedi village in Rampur district, passed away several years ago. He has five daughters who all are married. Shafi Ahmed is currently making a living by running a retail shop.
In spite of the care given by daughters, the elderly felt the need for companionship. In order to provide care for their father, the daughters mutually understood the need for a life partner for their old father and hence with everyone's consent got him married to a 75-year-old woman.
According to 90-year-old groom Shafi Ahmed, the reason he got married at this age is so that he can be taken care of. He does not have a son who will look after HIM but has five daughters who are married.
Everyone in the family is happy with his decision and now the groom is also hoping that the government will provide some help. He also praised his bride.
Meanwhile, 75-year-old bride Ayesha Bi explained the reason for her wedding saying she was all alone and had a difficult time getting food.
