New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced the list of its 30 ‘Star Campaigners’ who will be highlighting work done under UP CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP ruled Centre. The campaigners' list is for the first phase of the upcoming UP assembly elections 2022.

The names that are on the top include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, CM Yogi, and Hema Malini among others.

What seems interesting is that MoS Home Ajay Misra Teni’s name is missing from the list. Teni has been in controversy after his son was named as one of the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.

Uttar Pradesh will go to the polls in seven phases beginning February 10. The results of the assembly elections will be announced on March 10. BJP has recently released the list of 107 candidates for the first and second phases of the UP assembly elections. UP has 403 assembly constituencies that will go to the polls in seven phases through the months of February and March.

In an interesting twist, Samajwadi Party veteran Mulayam Singh Yadav’s youngest daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav has joined BJP today in Delhi. On the other hand, after much speculation, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also announced today that he will be contesting assembly polls. The seats have not been finalised yet for both the candidates.
