New Delhi: The political temperature in Uttar Pradesh has risen weeks ahead of the UP assembly elections. Today, Aparna Yadav, youngest daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party veteran Mulayam Singh Yadav joined BJP in Delhi. Yadav was welcomed to the party by Keshav Prasad Maurya and Swatantra Dev Singh.

In an exclusive interview to ABP News, Yadav said, “I took the decision after taking blessings from Mulayam Singh Yadav.”

On the question of whether Mulayam Singh Yadav will campaign for her, Aparna Yadav said I have gotten his blessings and everything else is a concern for later.

Responding to why she did not stay with SP, she said “it is just a difference in ideology, and we are free to choose which party we want to join.”

She added that she has taken blessings from the elders of both BJP and her family. “I am very thankful to the BJP. I joined the BJP to serve the nation. The nation always comes first for me. I admire PM Modi's work," she further said.

Aparna Yadav also said that “whenever I contested elections, I worked hard and gained public confidence. When I contested from SP in Lucknow, I got the most votes for an SP candidate in the last 27 years.”

Aparna Yadav is Mulayam Singh Yadav’s youngest son Pratik Yadav’s wife and had contested assembly election from Lucknow Cantonment in 2017.

According to ABP News sources, Aparna Yadav may not contest the UP assembly election 2022, rather handle a big post in BJP’s Mahila Morcha (women's wing).
