New Delhi: The district administration in Bareilly demolished a petrol pump owned by Samajwadi Party MLA Shazil Islam on Thursday, reported news agency ANI. The petrol pump was allegedly constructed without map approval.

As per ANI, the petrol pump was located on the Delhi-Rampur highway.

The administration’s action came days after Islam was entailed into controversy for allegedly making provocative remarks against UP CM Yogi Adityanath.

On Monday, Islam was addressing his party’s supporters in Bareilly where he allegedly said that if Yogi says anything against SP then their guns will not emit smoke but will fire bullets.

Islam’s video went viral on social media, leading to an FIR against him. However, the claims were denied by him saying that his video was edited and made viral by a news channel.

"A news channel edited my video and then made it viral. In the program, I had said that being a strong opposition we will give a strong reply on all things like a gun which emits bullets and not smoke," he was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.

The video that went viral had Islam saying, “Earlier (till 2017-2022), when we had a lesser number of MLAs, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath used to say bad things about the Samajwadi party in House.” “Except verbally abusing us, he used to mouth all wrong things about us. But we have now a good number of members and our national president Akhilesh Yadav too is the Leader of the Opposition. So if Yogi Adityanath uses abusive words, we will not sit silently. We too will give a befitting reply," as per PTI.
