Prime Minister Narendra Modi to shortly lay the foundation stone of the international cricket stadium, in Varanasi.

I am very eager to participate in these programs going to be held today in Baba Vishwanath's city Kashi. These projects will further accelerate the development journey of Varanasi as well as entire Uttar Pradesh.
Today at around 1:30 pm, along with laying the foundation stone of a grand international cricket stadium in Varanasi, we will have the privilege of inaugurating 16 Atal Residential Schools. Apart from this, I will also be a part of the closing ceremony of Kashi Sansad Cultural Mahotsav.
PM Modi will also dedicate to the nation 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya built across Uttar Pradesh today. As per the PMO, these schools have been built at a cost of about Rs 1115 crores with an aim to further enhance access to quality education.
These have been started exclusively for children of labourers, construction workers and orphans due to COVID-19 pandemic, with an aim to provide quality education and help in holistic development of Children, the release said.
PM Modi Varanasi Visit: According to an official release from the Prime Minister's Office, the international cricket stadium, to be inugurated by the PM, will be built in Ganjari, Rajatalab, Varanasi and will be developed in more than 30 acre area, at a cost of about Rs 450 crores.
The thematic architecture of this stadium draws inspiration from Lord Shiva, with designs developed for crescent shaped roof covers, trident shaped flood-lights, ghat steps based seating, Bilvipatra shaped metallic sheets on the facade. The stadium will have a capacity of 30,000 spectators, the release added.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath has shared a post on X welcoming PM Narendra Modi ahead of latter's visit to the city of Varanasi.
"Another golden chapter is going to be added tomorrow in the incredible development journey of Baba Shri Vishwanath ji's holy city Kashi. Honourable Prime Minister Shri @Narendra Modi will tomorrow lay the foundation stone of 'International Cricket Stadium' in Varanasi which has been built at a cost of ₹451 crore."
"He will also inaugurate the newly constructed 16 Estimate Mutual Orchestra at a cost of approximately ₹1,115 crore by participating in the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Kashi Newkalam Cultural Festival 2023," the CM said.
Prime Minister will reach Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre today and will participate in the closing ceremony of Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023. He will also dedicate to Nation 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya built across Uttar Pradesh, during the programme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi today. He will also address a rally of women supporters where he will speak about the Women’s quota Bill passed by Parliament during a five-day special session. PM Modi will also inaugurate 16 newly constructed Atal Residential Schools in Varanasi.
This comes a day after the Prime Minister addressed the women party workers at the BJP headquarters in Delhi on the successful passage of the Women's Reservation Bill.
According to reports, PM Modi is expected to reach Varanasi at 1:30 pm and will spend around seven hours there.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the cricket stadium in Ganjari. He will then address a rally of over 5,000 women at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya on the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023," news agency PTI quoted Varanasi Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma as saying.
“He will then reach Rudraksh Centre where he will inaugurate 16 newly constructed Atal Residential Schools,” Sharma added.
In a press release, the Uttar Pradesh government said that it has spent Rs 121 crore to acquire the land for the cricket stadium while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will spend Rs 330 crore on its construction.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted on Friday, “Tomorrow another golden chapter is going to be added in the incredible development journey of Baba Shri Vishwanath ji's holy city Kashi. Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji will lay the foundation stone of 'International Cricket Stadium' worth approximately Rs 451 crores in Varanasi tomorrow. Besides this, the Kashi MP will also participate in the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Cultural Mahotsav 2023 and inaugurate 16 newly constructed Atal Residential Schools at a cost of approximately Rs 1,115 crore. Hearty congratulations to you Prime Minister.”
