Mukhtar Ansari Death: The deceased body of Mukhtar Ansari, a former gangster turned politician, who passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Thursday, has been transported to his residence in Ghazipur for the final rites under heavy police deployment by the district administration on Saturday.

As per sources, the scheduled cremation rituals are set to take place today at 10 am in the family cemetery at Kali Bagh. After the postmortem conducted at Banda's Rani Durgavati Medical College, a convoy consisting of 26 vehicles, escorted by strict security measures, commenced its journey to Ghazipur at 4.45 pm on Friday.

Ansari, who passed away in a hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, prompted his family to demand a magisterial investigation into his death. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Banda has initiated a judicial probe as per orders.

According to ANI reports citing officials, a panel of two doctors will conduct the post-mortem, which will be recorded on video.

Umar Ansari, the son of Mukhtar Ansari, insisted on having the postmortem performed by doctors at AIIMS Delhi, expressing mistrust in the local medical system, government, and administration.

"We hope that the court will aid in investigating the suspicions that we are expressing. We will seek guidance from our legal team. We firmly believe that this is not a natural death but a planned murder," Umar Ansari remarked.

An official release from the hospital stated that Ansari was admitted around 8:25 pm on Thursday and attended to by a team of nine doctors before his demise. However, Sibgatullah Ansari, Mukhtar Ansari's elder brother, alleged on Friday that the administration failed to inform him about his brother's death, learning about it through the media.

Earlier, Umar Ansari had alleged that his father was "poisoned in the food" and threatened to approach the judiciary.

In April 2023, Mukhtar Ansari was convicted and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai by an MP-MLA court. On March 13, 2024, he was sentenced to life in prison for a case involving the use of forged documents to obtain an arms licence in 1990.
