In a fresh development in the Umesh Pal murder case, the Prayagraj Police Commissionerate has now issued a lookout notice against murdered gangster Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen, shooter Guddu Muslim and Sabir. This comes as the investigation on the Atiq-Ashraf double murder case still hangs in the air as probe agencies fail to reach any conclusion even after a month after the shootout. Meanwhile, the Judicial Commission will be coming to the city on Tuesday again in connection with the case.

Both Atiq and Ashraf were shot dead while in police custody when they were being taken for medical in a hospital on April 15. The incident raised serious questions about the law and order in the state. The task of investigating the shootout was entrusted to a judicial commission headed by Justice DB Bhosle. He will be reaching Prayagraj on Tuesday along with four other members of the commission

Notably, two SITs of Uttar Pradesh Police are also probing the Atiq-Ashraf murder case. Apart from two SITs, a judicial commission has also been formed under the chairmanship of Justice DB Bhosle. He and other members of the commission will investigate the matter in Prayagraj.

The commission will record the statements of media and police personnel who were present on the occasion. The judicial commission will also try to find out the reason for the murder through the CCTV footage. The X-ray of Atiq and Ashraf and the statements of the doctors who conducted the post-mortem will also be taken on record.

All three accused who shot dead Atiq and Ashraf are presently in police custody. Shooters Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny Singh and Arun Maurya are lodged in Pratapgarh jail on judicial custody remand till May 25.
