New Delhi: Jaspur BJP leader Gurtaj Singh Bhullar, whose wife Gurpreet was shot dead during a raid by Uttar Pradesh police, on Friday alleged that officials were drunk and "killed" his wife as he also accused them of concocting a story to justify the incident.
"They (UP Police officials) were drunk and killed my wife. I'm also a public representative of the government, yet all this happened to me. They are spreading propaganda that they were kept hostage. There are CCTVs everywhere on the road": Gurtaj Singh said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
The BJP leader seeking justice urged for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
"I want justice. I appeal to the government for a CBI probe. The BJP government is there in both states. If I'm at fault then I should be punished but a fair probe should be done," he said.

Angry locals protested and blocked the national highway after the woman was allegedly killed in a clash between Moradabad Police and locals in Bharatpur village of Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar.
"UP Police came here without informing anyone. They were not in uniform, and were not carrying ID cards. Raids are not conducted this way. They entered a house, fired, and a woman lost her life. This is wrong. A case of murder has been registered," Nilesh Anand Bharney, DIG, Kumaon Range said, as quoted by ANI.
The DIG further informed, "We're probing it. Had they (UP police) informed the local police, they might have been able to help them better as they are aware of the area. Injured UP Police officials went to Moradabad hospital without informing us."
