New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday released a booklet on the completion of 100 days of his government's second term. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, CM Adityanath highlighted Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) recent electoral feat in assembly election as well as the bypolls in Azamgarh and Rampur. He also lauded his government's schemes while crediting his dispensation for improving the state's image which was of "hooliganism and crime".


The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said: "Two bypolls seats including Azamgarh and Rampur, which had been won by Samajwadi Party (SP) in 2019 were taken by BJP this year. It was the first time in UP that a formed government stayed all 5 years and came into power again with majority. We did what we had promised."

Recently, BJP's Ghanshyam Lodhi won the Lok Sabha bypoll in Rampur while the party candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' defeated Samajwadi Party's Dharmendra Yadav, his nearest rival at Azamgarh.


Highlighting the state government's work, Yogi Adityanath mentioned that "UP is the biggest state in the country and can lead the country ahead. 'Sarkar Janta Ke Dwar' was a success as 18 ministers held camps for 72 hours in each commissionerate, held 'Janta Chaupals', assessed development works and went to blocks and villages", news agency ANI reported.


He credited his government with improving the state's image which was of "hooliganism and crime", leading to more foreign investment.

"As we improved the image of UP, which was of hooliganism and crime, foreign investment rose... We're the first to remove unnecessary mics so people may get rid of noise pollution in their lives. Over 1.2 lakh mics were removed peacefully," the Chief Minister said, as quoted by ANI.


Mentioning the Centre's PM Gareeb Kalyan Yojna scheme, he said that it "gave ration to over 15 crore people, a decision we took in our first cabinet itself." 


"1.66 crore beneficiaries will get an LPG cylinder for free on Holi and Diwali, we decided in the first 100 days of our second term," he added.


As per the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, the sector of "air travel has been made stronger." "In 2017, we had 2 airports while 2 were under construction. Now we have 9 functional airports while work on 10 more is ongoing."


In the assembly elections held earlier this year, the BJP retained power in Uttar Pradesh by winning 255 out of 403 constituencies, securing a 41.29 per cent vote share.


Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as the chief minister of the state by Governor Anandiben Patel in a jam-packed Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. A total of 52 ministers took oath as ministers, including two deputy Chief Ministers. Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
