Devotees having hard time due to silt deposits in Varanasi

In Varanasi, devotees were facing a hard time due to silt deposited near the Ganga ghats. To deal with the issue, the local seafarer community took the lead and cleaned the silt. However, due to the high water level in Ganga and owing to flood situation, the silt deposits have accumulated on the ghats once again, as a result of which devotees may face problems at the ghats while following the Chhath rituals.

According to the custom, the first Arghya of Chhath will be offered to the setting sun today.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extends his wishes
