Ayodhya: Roof Of Ram Temple 'Leaking' After First Rain, No Drainage System In Place, Chief Priest Says

The chief priest of the Ayodhya Ram Temple said that the roof of the temple started leaking just after the first rain.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir: With not even a year since the grand inauguration of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, reports of water leakage in the sanctum sanctorum have already surfaced online. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the grand temple, has said that the roof of the temple started leaking just after the first rain. This has raised concerns over the construction of the Ram Temple.

While speaking about the ongoing construction work of the Ram Temple, the chief priest said that it is impossible for the construction to be completed by July 2025. However, he added that if such claims were being made he accepts them.

Demanding action and investigation into the matter, the chief priest, while raising questions over the construction of the Ram Mandir said that the water began leaking after the first rain right where the Ram Lalla idol has been enshrined.

He also added that it is important to pay attention to the structure that has been built to know what the issues with it are, and that they must be resolved within one-two days.

The chief priest further said that if the issue is not resolved soon that it would become difficult to offer prayers once the rain intensifies.

'Construction Of The Temple Till 2025 Is impossible'

Acharya Satyendra Das further said that it is 2024 now, and 2025 is just a year away, and thus, it is not very likely that the construction work will be completed within a year. Currently, construction work is underway to build designated places for idols of other Gods as well.

He also said that while it is a happy news that the Temple might be ready completely by next year, it is also important that the concerned authorities look into the issues that have been coming up in the structure that is now open for public.

Acharya Satyendra Das said that the constructed Ram Temple has no outlet for water drainage, and after water started leaking from above, it started to collect at the place where the idol is.

"If it is being claimed that the entire construction work will be completed by 2025, it is a good thing, but it is impossible as much work is still left to be done," he said.

He stressed again that the issue of leakage is a major one and should be resolved first.
