The Kolkata Traffic Police have issued an andvisory imposing limitations on vehicle movement inside the city to prevent danger, obstruction, or discomfort to the public in conjunction with the All India Trinamool Congress Committee's 'Mass Rally' at Brigade Parade Ground on Sunday. Sharing the advisory on its official X handle, the Kolkata Police stated: "Movement of Vehicular Traffic will be regulated along the the roads / stretches from 04.00 AM to 09.00 PM."






In light of the TMC rally, movement of all sorts of goods vehicles (except LPG vehicles, vegetable, fruit, and milk carrying vehicles) under Kolkata Police jurisdiction would be limited from 3 am to 8 pm on March 10, according to the advisory.


On Sunday, vehicles of all types will be prohibited from parking on the following thoroughfares/roads in and around Victoria Memorial Hall: a portion of AJC Bose Road between Hastings and Cathedral Road, Hospital Road, Queensway, Cathedral Road, Casuarina Avenue, and Lovers Lane.


Movement of vehicles of all varieties and carts of all descriptions, including tram cars, shall be temporarily suspended, redirected, or not permitted to be parked on the roads and approaches along the line of route of the processions from 4 am to 8 pm, or as and when required.


The Traffic Police on duty may additionally redirect vehicular traffic from any of the arterial highways and feeder roads as needed, in accordance with the aforesaid programme.

Last month, the Trinamool Congress announced a March 10 rally at the Brigade Parade Grounds, its first in five years, to protest the Centre's funding blockade of Bengal. According to TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, the protest, themed 'Jana Garjan Sabha' ('Roar of the Masses'), will try to expel "outside tormentors" from Bengal, indirectly referring to prominent BJP officials.
