New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday took a swipe at the Congress party after it changed its candidates in four constituencies for the November 17 assembly polls, days after its lists sparked protests at various places in the state.


Earlier in the day, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) changed its earlier announced candidates from Sumaoli, Pipariya, Badnagar, and Jaora assembly seats.


Reacting to this, the Madhya Pradesh CM pointed out at the raging infighting between Congress's two main bulwarks Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh, and said that the grand old party has become 'Ticket Badal Congress.'


Speaking to ANI, Chouhan said, "Not only Kamal Nath, but his son also distributed the tickets. When people reached Kamal Nath, he said that if you have to tear clothes, then you should tear the clothes of Digvijaya Singh and Jaivardhan Singh... After that, Congress has become 'Ticket Badal Congress'. In many places, tickets have been changed. Congress's condition is weird now. Let's see what happens in the future."






From Badnagar, the Congress has fielded Murli Morwal, whose supporters had staged an aggressive protest and burnt tyres in front of party state chief Kamal Nath’s bungalow in Bhopal. Earlier, the Congress had given the ticket to Rajendra Singh Solanki from this seat, reported PTI.


In Pipariya (SC) of Narmadapuram district, the Congress has replaced Guru Charan Khare with Virendra Belvanshi.


From the Sumawali seat in Morena district, the party has now fielded its sitting legislator Ajab Singh Kushwaha in place of the earlier announced Kuldeep Sikarwar, according to PTI.


From the Jaora seat in Ratlam district, the Congress now nominated Virendra Singh Solanki in place of the earlier announced Himmat Shrimal. Solanki’s supporters had opposed the candidature of Shrimal.


The Congress has already announced candidates for all the 230 seats in the state, while the ruling BJP has declared the names of its candidates for 228 constituencies.


The polling for the 230-member MP assembly will be held on November 17 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
