New Delhi: Bihar Minister and Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav celebrated the festival of Holi in a melodious way at his official residence in Patna.

A video shared by the news agency ANI shows the Bihar minister celebrating Holi dressed like Lord Krishna, wearing a crown and playing a flute.

Reacting to the video, a user wrote, "Promise the great land of Bihar that when you become CM you will still celebrate Holi in this same spirit !"

Another user wrote, "Politics aside, he literally plays flute very well."

In another 50-second video, a woman can be seen hitting Tej Pratap gently with a stick while the minister trying to cover himself with a wooden shield, as he celebrated the traditional 'Lathmaar Holi.'

Lathmaar Holi is famous in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura, where women and men celebrate the festival of colour by engaging in a friendly stick battle.

Yadav took to Twitter to greet all the residents of Bihar on the occasion of the Holi festival.

The festival of Holi is being celebrated across the country today with shades of pink and blue, green and yellow in the air.

The festival is being celebrated in its full zeal and spirit for the first time after a two-year hiatus induced by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the occasion of the festival of Holi. “Best wishes for Holi. May the colours of joy and enthusiasm always shower in your life,” he tweeted. “Wishing you all a happy and colourful Holi!,” the PM added.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also wished everyone a happy Holi.

“Holi celebrates the spirit of togetherness and inspires us to enjoy the diversity of colours. It is a festival to bring people together and strengthen their bond. Hearty greetings and best wishes to everyone on the joyous occasion of Holi,” Kharge said.
