Chithra, widely known as VJ Chithra, gained popularity for her role in the Tamil soap opera Pandian Stores and made her film debut in Calls (2021). Prior to pursuing acting full-time, she worked as a television host. After watching Chithra host a show, Radhika reached out to offer her a role in Chinna Papa Periya Papa (2016), where she starred alongside actresses Nirosha and Nalini. Chithra got engaged to businessman Hemanth Ravi in August 2020 and they registered their marriage in October 2020. The couple had planned to hold a formal wedding ceremony in February 2021, but Chithra passed away before it could take place.
