New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday questioned two top Punjabi singers of Punjab in connection with the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case. Singer Dalpreet Dhillon and Mankirat Aulak were questioned by the NIA for several hours at the Delhi headquarters. After interrogation, both the Punjabi singers were released. However, both the singers can be called again for questioning if needed. During interrogation, albums and many other information of both the singers were also sought.

On October 26, NIA interrogated Punjabi singer Afsana Khan for around five hours in connection with the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case. Afsana, who shared a close bond with Sidhu and was like a sister to him, was summoned by the NIA for a probe into criminal-gangster terror syndicates.

In an objective to bring down crime networks and gangsters, NIA recently carried out raids in various hideouts of gangsters across the country. Singer Afsana’s name came up during the investigation of gangster terror syndicates.

According to sources, Khan had close associations with a few gangsters including the Bambiha gang, an arch-rival of the Bishnoi gang who allegedly orchestrated Moose Wala’s murder.

Sidhu had also reportedly told Afsana that he was receiving threatening calls. These reasons have forced the NIA to summon the singer and get her statements recorded.

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29 when he was on his way to Jawahar Ke village in Mansa in a jeep with his friend and cousin. His vehicle was waylaid and bullets were sprayed on him by six shooters.

After the killing, Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder.

Punjab Police had confirmed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has admitted to being the mastermind of the murder of the singer and was plotting the murder since August last year.

Sidhu Moose Wala and Afsana were very close and he also attended Khan’s wedding in February this year.
