Salman Khan House Firing: In the latest developments pertaining to the case of the firing at the Bandra house of actor Salman Khan, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested the fifth accused in connection with the incident, as reported by news agency ANI on Thursday.


The Mumbai Crime Branch said that the accused, identified as Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary, had also done recce outside the homes of two other actors besides Salman Khan’s house. It also stated that the shooters, Pal and Gupta, carried out the firing after gangster Anmol Bishnoi reassured them that they would gain virtue by completing the task. 


"The accused, Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary, had also done recce outside the homes of two other actors besides Salman Khan’s house. He shot a video of Salman Khan's house, then sent it to gangster Anmol Bishnoi. The shooters, Pal and Gupta, were apprehensive about carrying out the firing until Bishnoi reassured them that they would gain virtue by completing the task. Further investigation is underway in recce outside the houses of two more actors, the Mumbai Crime Branch said, as quoted by ANI.






Meanwhile, the Punjab and Haryana High Court allowed a second post-mortem examination of Anuj Kumar, who died in police custody following his arrest in the firing case, as reported by news agency PTI. The direction came on a petition filed by Anuj Kumar's mother Reeta Devi, who sought a fresh examination. The court of Justice Vinod S Bhardwaj asked the petitioner to hand over the body to the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College in Faridkot on or before May 10.


On April 14, two motorbike-borne people opened fire outside Salman Khan's residence in the Bandra area of Mumbai. Four people, including Anuj Kumar, were arrested in connection with the case.
