A former official at the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has been arrested for allegedly leaking the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment question paper to his children.

According to a report in India Today, Ramuram Raika was arrested on Sunday after his daughter Shobhna and son Devesh bagged the 5th and 40th ranks in the recruitment exam.

The scam was exposed after the Rajasthan's Police Special Operations Group (SOG) conducted the dummy interviews.

The arrest of the former RPSC official comes days after the two children were arrested along with other trainees for the alleged involvement in the paper leak case.

The five trainees were arrested and presented before the court after which they were sent to the police custody till September 7. They were later brought to the SOG office for questioning on Saturday.

The SOG has so far arrested 63 individuals in connection with the sub-inspector recruitment paper leak case, including 37 selected candidates.

Of these, 33 were undergoing training at the training centre after joining as station house officers. Three others were selected but did not join. Despite their efforts to evade the SOG's grasp, the group remains several steps ahead.

Ramuram Raika Presented To Court

Ramuram Raika was presented before the court in the paper leak case on Monday. However, the courtroom quickly descended into chaos as lawyers started a protest. The lawyers entered the courtroom and demanded that Raika be moved out of the courtroom.

The matter unfolded while Ramuram Raika was being presented before the court when a lawyer, Vikas Sharma, confronted him and said, "Aren’t you ashamed of playing with the future of these young people? Have some decency."

Raika, in return, raised his hand and said, "If you don’t leave, I’ll slap you."

Following this, the police intervened and Raika apologised to the lawyer. The court then sent him to police custody for six days.
