A man has been swept away in strong currents and went missing while taking a bath near a waterfall in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan.

The incident reportedly occurred in Menal, a famous tourist spot located on the Bhilwara-Chittorgarh-Kota National Highway in Rajasthan.

A video of the incident has gone viral showing two youths clinging to a rope while others try to pull them away from the strong current.

Several reports said that the youths put their lives in danger to take selfies and make reels in the strong currents of the river.

The one-minute video of the incident shows the youths tightly holding the rope, which appears to be part of the fence. While one boy manages to hold on to the rope, the other youth is seen drifting away in the strong currents.

After being swept for 100 meters, the boy fell nearly 150 feet from the waterfall. The rescue team was able to find one, but they are still trying to locate Kanhaiya Lal Bairwa.

The victim has been identified as Kanhaiya Lal Bairwa, a resident of Bhilwara, who was swept away while taking photos near the waterfall. Meanwhile, 17-year-old Akshit Dhobi, a resident of Shastri Nagar, was saved from drowning. On receiving information about the incident, a team of police and administrative officials reached the spot.

Dharmendra Swami, a district official of Bengu subdivision of Chittorgarh district, said that iron chains have been installed for barricading for the safety of tourists at the site. Moreover, slogans have also been written for people's safety.

"To avoid any accident, the administration has deployed a team of divers. Police has been deployed. Despite this, people reach the danger point by evading the authorities," the official said.

The Meteorological Centre has issued a warning of heavy rain in several places in the state on Tuesday, particularly in western Rajasthan, during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Jaisalmer, Pali and Jodhpur districts received extremely heavy rainfall leading to flood-like situation at some places.
