New Delhi: A patient in Rajasthan's Banswara died in an ambulance allegedly due to a delay caused by lack of fuel in the vehicle due to which the vehicle stopped midway.
Relatives of patients were seen pushing the ambulance, news agency ANI reported.
"We came to know about the incident and have initiated the inquiry. We will meet the victim's relatives and find out about the negligence. 108 is being run by a private agency. They have the responsibility for the maintenance of ambulances. A probe is underway": Chief Medical Health Officer, Banswara stated, as per ANI.
State minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas called the incident a "management failure". He is presently the Cabinet Minister for Transport and Soldiers Welfare Dept.
"Our government has given free treatment in a private hospital. If there's an incident of a patient dying due to lack of fuel in an ambulance then it's management failure and not of the system. We'll take stringent action against those responsible for it," he said, as quoted by ANI.
