Taking to Twitter, CM Bhagwant Mann announced several decisions taken by the cabinet which include approval of 26,454 recruitments, one MLA-one pension, the door-to-door ration delivery scheme, compensation of Rs 41.8 crore for soft crops failure in Sri Muktsar Sahib, and extension of time for depositing fees for small transporters.

With this announcement, the Punjab government will stop paying the income tax of MLAs, news agency ANI reported.

The door-to-door ration delivery scheme has also been much talked about by the AAP leadership including the party's national convener and Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, who also attacked the BJP-led Union government for not allowing the scheme to be implemented in the national capital.

As per CM Bhagwant Mann's announcement, compensation amounting to Rs 41.8 crores for the failure of soft crops in the Muktsar district was approved and it was also agreed that Rs 38.08 crore will be provided to the farmers and 03.81 crore to farm laborers.

The Punjab government decided to extend the time for depositing fees for small transporters by 3 months. It said the transporters can also deposit the fees in installments.

Notably, the Chief Minister also wrote: "Not just announcements, We do what we say", perhaps a dig at his predecessor Charanjit Singh Channi who AAP had mocked as "Elanjeet Singh" for his announcements on subsidised electricity, loan waivers, and more.
