Nuh Violence: Police have nabbed a man for his alleged involvement in the Nuh violence case after a gunfight, reported the news agency PTI. The man, identified as Aamir, was shot in the leg and then was arrested by the police. A resident of Didhara village, Aamir was arrested by police after a brief encounter in the Tauru area of the district, officials said on Monday, reported PTI. According to the agency, a search operation was launched after police received inputs that the accused, along with his associates, was hiding in the Aravalli hills near Tauru. Police said that the accused opened fire at the police personnel and received a bullet injury in his leg in retaliatory firing.


Visuals shared by PTI show the man on a bed with a bandage tied to his right leg. Aamir was admitted to Nalhar Medical College for treatment, they said, as quoted by PTI. Police said the search is on for other accused linked with the communal violence that rocked the district and Gurugram.


 






Police officials also recovered a country-made pistol and five cartridges from Aamir's possession. Notably, six people, including two home guards and a cleric, died in the communal clashes that erupted in Nuh when the Vishva Hindu Parishad's Braj Mandal Yatra was attacked by a mob on July 31, the report added.


Earlier on Monday, residents of Singar village handed over five accused wanted in connection with the July 31 communal violence to police following repeated appeals by police and administration, an official said on Monday, the agency stated.


The police arrested all five of them. According to the police, as per PTI, so far 60 FIRs have been registered in the Braj Mandal violence case and 264 accused have been arrested. Apart from this, eleven people have been booked for spreading rumours on social media and one accused has been arrested.
