Patna: Bihar government is preparing to deal with the threat of Omicron infections as cases of the new COVID variant are rising in the country.


Meanwhile, Coronavirus cases have also been surging in Bihar. In such a situation, the government is making arrangements for the treatment of people. Medicines, liquid oxygen, and other essential supplies are being reviewed.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar informed about the state government's preparations after 'Janta Darbar' on Monday. 


Replying to a question on the preparations in view of the rising Coronavirus case in Bihar, the Chief Minister said, "We did not think the situation would escalate so quickly. Today, six people have been found Coronavirus positive here too. At the same time, 86 people who attended the IMA programme have also found to be infected, which is extremely concerning. We will make some decisions on this tomorrow. Everyone needs to be careful for the time being."


CM said there is no lack of health facilities in the state. He assured that there is sufficient oxygen supply.


Considering all factors, the state government will reach decisions pertaining to the COVID situation on Tuesday, he informed.




Bihar Health Department on Monday informed that the state has recorded 344 new COVID19 cases. Active cases stand at 1,385, it stated.
