New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday informed that a member of her family and one of her staff members tested positive for Coronavirus.

Following this, she revealed that doctors have advised her to isolate herself even as her test report has returned negative.

Taking to Twitter, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi wrote: "A member of my family and one of my staff have tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. I have tested negative today however the doctor has advised that I remain isolated and test again after a few days".

Last year in April, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had tested positive for COVID-19. He had informed about the test result on Twitter while revealing that he was experiencing mild symptoms.

Meanwhile, the development comes as Priyanka Gandhi has been campaigning for Congress in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh as she is entrusted with the responsibility to revive the grand old party in the political heartland.

Even as Priyanka Gandhi's attacks on the ruling BJP continue to garner attention and make headlines, the poll predictions have not shown a hopeful prospect for Congress which is projected to have a minor vote share in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh election.

Whether or not Priyanka Gandhi is able to really improve the Congress party's position in BJP-ruled UP, remains to be seen.
