Jhingia Oram, the wife of Union tribal affaris minister Jual Oram died of dengue on Saturday during treatment at a private hospital in Odisha's Bhubaneswar. The Union minister is also suffering from dengue and is undergoing treatment. The Union Tribal Affairs Minister and his wife were last seen during the Lok Sabha elections.  


Jhingia (58) is survived by her husband and two daughters. 


Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed grief over the death of Jhingia Oram. He said that he was very saddened to hear this news. CM Majhi described Jhingia as a virtuous, soft-spoken person who was engaged in social and charitable activities.






He further said that Jhingia has played an important role in Jual's long political journey.


Along with the Chief Minister Majhi, state's law minister Prithviraj Harichandan, health minister Mukesh Mahalinga, Assembly Speaker Surma Padhi and other BJP leaders also paid their last respects to the departed soul.


As per the reports, Jhingia was admitted to the Apollo Hospital, Bhubaneswar after suffering from dengue. She was undergoing treatment here for the last 9 days but there was no improvement in her health, after which he breathed her last at the age of 58.


Bharatiya Janata Party leader Jual Oram is one of the oldest stalwarts of Odisha politics. He has been elected to the Lok Sabha as an MP for the sixth time this year. Sundargarh is considered his stronghold, from where he has been winning elections since 1998. He has also been the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs in the government of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
