The police have arrested a man whi was seen urinating on a tribal labourer in a viral video in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi. He has also been slapped with the National Security Act after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took note of the matter. "The accused (Pravesh Shukla) was arrested at around 2 am (today). He is currently being interrogated," Additional SP Anjulata Patle said. The police have invoked the stringent NSA against the accused following directions from Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, "The accused (Pravesh Shukla) was arrested last night. He is in the lock-up and strict action has been taken against him. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that NSA will be registered against him. Bulldozer does not work according to Congress, it works according to law."

A case has been registered under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and SC/ST Act against the accused, Pravesh Shukla. National Security Act is also being invoked against the alleged accused. After the video went viral, the accused was alleged to be a BJP worker associated with MLA from Sidhi Kedarnath Shukla. However, Shukla said: "He [the culprit in the video] is neither my representative nor an associate. He is not connected to BJP in any way. I am demanding strict action against the culprit."

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said the police in the Sidhi district was ordered to arrest the man. News agency ANI reported that the culprit would be slapped with charges under the National Security Act (NSA).

In the video, the accused was seen smoking and urinating on another person sitting on the pavement. Social media users demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. According to some media reports, the accused peed on the victim as the latter had asked for his wages. However, the claim couldn't be verified independently.

Former MP CM Kamal Nath slammed the incident and called for an end to atrocities against "tribals in Madhya Pradesh". "Madhya Pradesh is already number one in atrocities against the tribals. This incident has put the entire Madhya Pradesh to shame. I demand from the CM that the strictest punishment should be given to the guilty person and the atrocities against tribals in Madhya Pradesh should be ended," he said. Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress President and tribal leader Vikrant Bhuria, too, condemned the incident and blamed the BJP for the accused's act.
