The Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday razed portion of a bar which was visited by accused Mihir Shah hours before the accident where his BMW car hit a couple, killing the wife. The establishment, Vice-Global Tapas Bar, against which the action has been taken is located in Juhu suburbs. 


Mihir, 24, was arrested by the Mumbai police on Tuesday after he allegedly rammed his luxury car into a two-wheeler from behind in Worli area of south-central Mumbai on Sunday. Kaveri Nakhwa (45), who was riding pillion died in the accident while her husband Pradeep Nakhwa sustained injuries.


A team of BMC's K-West ward office reached the bar on Wednesday morning and started razing some of the additional alterations made inside the establishment, said a civic official, reported PTI. 






The civic body had conducted an investigation of the bar on Tuesday to check if any unathorised additions and alterations were made. Detailed measurements were taken at the bar during the inspection, said the official, adding that the bar was given a notice before the demolition process began.  


According to police, Kaveri was dragged for around 1.5 kilometres by the speeding car before Mihir pullled it over, changed the seat with his driver, and fled in another vehichle.

On Wednesday Mihir admitted that he was behind the wheel at the time of the accident and later fled in an autorikshaw before his father came to the spot because he got scared.


Mihir made the admission during police interrogation. The police also said that the accused shaved his beard to hide his identity.
