Eleven flights were cancelled and 10 were diverted from Mumbai airport due to heavy rainfall in Mumbai, the airport officials said on Thursday. According to ANI, Mumbai airport officials have confirmed that Flights were diverted to Ahmedabad, Surat, Hyderabad, Indore, and Mopa from the airport.






Indigo Airlines issued a travel advisory on Thursday saying, "Continuous and heavy rains over Mumbai are causing periodic delays in flight schedules. While we strive to give you real-time updates, we kindly ask you to check your flight status before leaving for the airport."






The Air India also cancelled several flights from Mumbai and said it will provide full refunds or a single, complimentary rescheduling for all flights cancelled and diverted due to the inclement weather.






IMD Issues Red Alert In Madhya Maharashtra, Educational Institutions To Be Closed In Thane


Mumbai has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past few weeks, resulting in several complaints of waterlogging in various areas. On Thursday, waterlogging was observed in multiple parts of the city.


Due to the continuous rain, there was also traffic congestion and slow vehicle movement on the Eastern Express Highway, causing difficulties for commuters enduring the consistent downpour.


After IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert in Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, and Sindhudurg till July 26, Thane Municipal Corporation has announced schools and colleges in Thane to remain closed tomorrow, on 26th of July.






The IMD has also issued a red alert in Madhya Maharashtra for Thursday, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall in the region. The weather office has also issued an orange alert for the region for the next two days, July 26 and 27.
