Six people died in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, following a collision involving a state transport bus, a tractor, and a car, according to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI). The tragic incident occurred near Dhawalipuri Phata on the Ahmednagar-Kalyan road in Parner tehsil around 2:30 am on Wednesday.


The PTI report stated that a tractor carrying sugarcane had overturned, prompting the arrival of another tractor to assist with the unloading process. Meanwhile, the driver of a car had also stopped to lend a hand. As the tractor made a turn on the road, a state transport bus collided with both the tractor and the car, resulting in the immediate death of six individuals, including some laborers.


"As the tractor took a turn on the road, a state transport bus approaching there collided with the tractor and the car. Six people, including some labourers, died on the spot," the official was quoted as saying by PTI.


The Parner police station official informed PTI that an investigation into the incident is underway.


3 Dead In Road Accident Near Tamil Nadu's Devakottai


In a separate road accident, as reported by The Hindu, three individuals lost their lives near Devakottai, Tamil Nadu in the early hours of January 24. The victims, including an elderly couple from Ramanathapuram district, were killed when a cargo vehicle, transporting devotees returning from Palani, collided head-on with a truck, the report said. 


The deceased were identified as N Namburajan (60) and his wife, Kaliammal (55), along with the cargo vehicle driver, I Mohammed Anwar (38). The Hindu reported that five injured people were admitted to the Sivaganga Government Medical College hospital.


According to the report, the cargo vehicle was returning from a trip where it accompanied seven devotees on a padayatra to offer prayers at the Dhandayuthapaniswamy temple in Palani. The collision occurred on the Tiruchi-Thondi national highways near Thalakavayal at approximately 2:30 am.


Devakottai Deputy Superintendent of Police, T Parthiban, and Devakottai Taluk Inspector of Police, K Saravanan, rushed to the scene for rescue operations. One of the injured individuals sustained a spinal cord fracture, as confirmed by the police to The Hindu.


The truck involved, driven by P Prabhu (23) of Asurapatti, was heading back to Pudukottai district after unloading stone pillars in Erwadi. The Devakottai Taluk police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
