New Delhi: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said that the first information report (FIR) filed in connection with an attempt to bribe and blackmail his wife Amruta Fadnavis would be investigated appropriately, reported news agency PTI.

Fadnavis addressed the issue in the Assembly after Opposition Leader Ajit Pawar brought it up and inquired about the specifics of the case that had been reported in the media.

The designer against whom the complaint has been filed, according to the deputy CM, gave hints about her political connections and how she might get in trouble with him if the cases against her father didn't get dropped, the deputy CM said.

The allegations against the designer have not yet been addressed by the designer.

An official stated that a first information report (FIR) was filed against Aniksha and her father on February 20 at the Malabar Hill police station in response to Amruta's complaint. According to the official, no arrests have been made in the case thus far.

According to Fadnavis, the designer communicated with his wife for nearly a year and a half and frequently visited their home.

He stated that the designer, the absconding daughter of Anil Jaisinghani, is an educated individual. She faces 14 to 15 cases. According to Fadnavis, she gained Amruta's trust and confidence when she first met her between 2015 and 2016.

“In 2021, she resumed contact with Amruta and even asked her to wear the clothes designed by her. She spoke about her father claiming that he was implicated in false cases and asked for help. My wife said she should give a memorandum which would be forwarded to me,” Fadnavis said.

"After the change of government, the designer spoke about her contacts with bookies. She claimed that she would share information and after the authorities conducted raids, she would get money from both parties," the deputy chief minister told the House.

The deputy chief minister stated that the designer suggested that she might implicate him (Devendra Fadnavis) if the cases were not withdrawn.

Fadnavis stated that the woman boasted of her contacts by disclosing the names of politicians and police officers. He stated that during the tenure of the previous police commissioner, efforts were made to dismiss the cases.

The deputy CM stated that she hinted that she and her father would speak in favor of Amruta and her husband if the cases were withdrawn.

A police official had previously stated, citing the FIR, that the designer also allegedly offered Amruta Rs. 1 crore in exchange for releasing her father from liability.

According to Fadnavis, during the previous government, he frequently mentioned the possibility of being implicated. Fortunately, nothing occurred, he said, mourning that the degree of governmental issues has plunged.

The case will be investigated, according to the deputy CM. He stated that the father continues to run away.

Fadnavis said that after Amruta blocked her phone number, the designer tried to extort his wife with audio and video recordings from unknown numbers. He stated that the recordings have been found to be false through a forensic investigation.

One of the video cuts shows the planner giving over a "bag full of money" to the house help in the Fadnavis home, the delegate CM, said adding that the legal review demonstrated that the pack with cash in one edge and the sack gave over to the house help in the other are unique.
