New Delhi: Amid the political aftershock in Maharashtra since Ajit Pawar parted ways with his uncle and NCP veteran Sharad Pawar, banners were put up by the rival faction seeking the blessings of senior Pawar for his estranged nephew. The poster war continued as banners with the photos of both the Pawars were put up along the road in Beed ahead of Sharad Pawar’s rally in Parli.

The development comes after Sharad Pawar, earlier, dismissed claims of having been made an “offer” by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar after a “secret” meeting between them last week.

Earlier this week, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Leader of Opposition, Wadettiwar claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had offered Ajit Pawar the post of Chief Minister on the condition that he brings NCP chief Sharad Pawar with him.

“I have no knowledge of Congress leaders giving such statements,” said the senior Pawar in a press conference. “Ajit Pawar talked about no offer in the meeting,” he added.

Pawar’s daughter and NCP leader Supriya Sule, too, cleared the air on having been “approached” by the BJP with a cabinet portfolio.

Her statement came amid media reports claiming former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said she has been offered a central cabinet berth.

Refuting the claims, Sule said, “I have received no such offer and neither has anyone had any conversations on those lines with me. I only know about the 15 August sales offer. You should ask them (Maharashtra Congress leaders) why they are giving such statements. I have no idea. I am personally in touch with senior Congress leaders such as Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Gaurav Gogoi but I am not in touch with any of their leaders in Maharashtra."
