Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday addressed a rally in Vidisha in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and said that Rs 1,700 crore was sent for development but it went into the pockets of "corrupt ministers" of the BJP. He claimed that the people of the state would give Congress 145-150 seats this time. This comes just two days before the state goes to poll on Nov 17, along with the second phase of voting in Chhattisgarh.

"I am cent per cent sure that there will be a tsunami of Congress in Madhya Pradesh. I am confident that we will 145-150 seats here," the Congress MP said.

The Congress MP said that voters elected Congress in the last elections but "PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Shivraj Singh Chouhan" toppled the government by paying crores to Congres MLAs. "They made a deal to mow down your decision. They betrayed you not the billionaires of the state. They betrayed, youth, farmers, and small businesses," Gandhi said.

"...Five years back, all of you elected Congress party to the government. You did not elect BJP but Congress party. After that, BJP leaders, Narendra Modi, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Amit Shah, together, purchased MLAs and stole the elected Government of Madhya Pradesh. By giving Crores of Rupees and purchasing MLAs of Congress party, your decision, the voice of your heart was crushed by the BJP leaders, by the Prime Minister. You were cheated..." he said.

He said the party waived the loans but did not let them work for long. Talking about increasing LPG gas prices, he said the price for one LPG cylinder is Rs 500 in Karnataka and "in MP it is Rs 1,400". Hailing the Karnataka model of free transport for women in public buses, Gandhi said women don't have to pay even a single rupee to go anywhere in the state.

Gandhi said he told the CMs of Karnataka and Chhattisgarh to bring back the amount "looted by BJP" to the farmers and people of the states. He promised to waive off farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh in Madhya Pradesh if Congress wins elections.

The former Congres President will hold another public meeting at Kharagpur in Tikamgarh district of the state at around 2 PM on Tuesday. Apart from him, the party Chief also addressed a public meeting in Indergarh town of Sewda assembly seat. Kharge will address another one at Mela Ground in Sheopur assembly seat at around 2 pm.

Priyanka Gandhi will also be holding a roadshow in Chhattisgarh's Raipur on Tuesday at 5 pm.

On Monday, addressing a rally in MP's Harda, Rahul Gandhi hit out at the BJP citing a viral video of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar's son accusing him of "stealing money of farmers, the poor and labourers." He showed the alleged video and asked if the Narendra Modi-led government had sent the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Income Tax department to his premises to probe.

"You must have seen the video of (Union Minister Narendra Singh) Tomar's son, who is stealing money of farmers, the poor and labourers without hiding it, without fear and openly on a video call. Has Modiji taken any action? Has ED, CBI, IT department taken action," as reported by news agency PTI.

The Union Minister's son meanwhile has claimed that the video is fake and also lodged an FIR against unidentified people.
