Amid confusions prevailing among I.N.D.I.A. Bloc leaders, Bharat Rashtra Samiti leader KT Rama Rao hinted at the formation of a third front led by former Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. The Pink party had dropped hints about the formation earlier as well. BRS leaders held meetings with several political figures regarding the third front before the state Assembly Elections held in Telangana last year.
Even in 2019, KCR attempted to form a front before the General Elections but it was not received well. In 2022, KCR interacted with TN CM Stalin, former PM Deve Gowda and former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray among others on the formation of a third front.
Against this back, KTR talking to ANI, expressed the need for regional leaders like KCR, Mamata, and Kejriwal to unite against the BJP and highlighted the limitations of Congress in countering the BJP. He advocated for a non-Congress, non-BJP coalition or a third front.
"On one side, Rahul Gandhi is doing Bharat Jodo but on the other side, the INDI alliance is developing differences. Only regional parties and strong regional leaders can stop the BJP. So, we should strengthen the regional forces," he said, as per the report.
BRS has consistently advocated for a non-Congress front for quite some time. On the non-Congress front, KTR said that KCR knew that Congress would not respect any party so that was why he had spoken about a non-Congress and non-BJP coalition.
Further, he said, a federal front or a third front should be formed in the country.
He said that if they get good numbers in Telangana during the general elections 2024 then they could succeed in the talks with regional parties such as Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Delhi CM Kejriwal and others.
