A 15-year-old girl who went missing in the Kasaragod district nearly three weeks ago was found dead with a 42-year-old man in a village, reports news agency PTI, quoting police. On February 11, the girl from Paivalike had gone missing, and a probe had been underway since then to trace her.

According to the report, the parents of the girl had raised allegations against the man, identified as Pradeep, who had also gone missing around the same time. The mobile phones of both of them were switched off.

A 52-member police team on Sunday, along with the local residents, conducted extensive research. Eventually, both of the individuals were found hanging from a tree in an area close to the house of the girl.

A missing person complaint was filed by the parents with the police in Kumabala on February 12.

Since both the girl and the neighbour had been missing, an investigation was ongoing, including the use of drones.

In a separate incident, two girls were missing from Tanur and were then located near Lonavala in Maharashtra. According to news agency PTI, a police team from Kerala was sent to Maharashtra to bring them back. According to the police, the exact reason behind their travel to Maharashtra remains unknown.
