A day after the chief of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot dead by unidentified attackers in Rajasthan's Jaipur, members of the Rajput community sat in protest across the state against the murder on Wednesday. The protesters were seen burning tyres and chanting slogans "phansi do" in Udaipur.

Similar protest was launched in Jodhpur and capital city Jaipur. Earlier in the day, Rajput community outfits called for a Rajasthan bandh as a sign of protest against Gogamedi's murder, who was shot dead in the living room of his house in Jaipur by three armed men.

Speaking on the incident, BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena says, "Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had requested state govt for security several times, he was being threatened by hardcore criminals, still govt did not provide security to him and this is the result of that...new CM has not been decided and oath taking has not happened yet but our party demands the arrest of such criminals...Congress is doing politics on this, Gehlot shouldn't have made such a statement. Everybody needs to work together on this".

Speaking on Gogamedi's murder, the national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena in Rajasthan, Union minister Kailash Choudhary says, "There is no place for goons in Rajasthan. Punishment should be given to those who indulge in criminal activities."
