A man was hacked to death with machetes by a group of seven individuals inside a bakery in the Koppal district of Karnataka, reportedly due to a property dispute, officials said on Monday. The incident, which occurred on May 31, was caught on CCTV.

The surveillance footage shows the 35-year-old victim, identified as Chenappa Narinal, rushing into the bakery in an attempt to escape the attackers who were chasing and thrashing him. In the video, at least two assailants were seen attacking him with machetes, while another hit him on the head using a wooden stick.

However, the victim put his effort running a full circle in the bakery to evade the attack, but was brutally hit. It is seen that the accused is running behind him, trying to slash with the machetes and stabbing multiple times.

Accuse Fle Scene Soon After Incident

According to a report by NDTV, the accused fled the scene soon after the incident. After the police came into action, at least seven people were arrested. The arrested individuals were identified as Ravi, Pradeep, two Manjunaths, Nagaraj, Gautam, and Pramod.

The police probe disclosed that an old enmity and a property dispute were the cause of the murder. Top officials inspected the site of the crime to evaluate the circumstances, and a search operation is underway to apprehend additional suspects linked to the brutal attack.

Officials further added that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
