The police have not registered a new FIR, as an investigation into alleged MUDA irregularities is already underway. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended the land transaction, stating that the compensation received by his wife was for land gifted by her brother in 1998. However, Snehamayi Krishna contended that the land was bought by Mallikarjun in 2004 and gifted to Parvathi in 2010 .
Karnataka Home Minister Rules Out Need For SIT Probe
The land allotment controversy has gained significant attention, particularly because Parvathi Siddaramaiah was a beneficiary of a MUDA order during the BJP's tenure in 2021.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara dismissed allegations that the government is attempting to cover up the scam. He ruled out the necessity of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, emphasising that the Chief Minister had already provided clarification on the matter.
"We will not cover up anything; our government is like an open book. There is no need to cover up anything in it. The Chief Minister has clarified, we need not speak about it repeatedly," Parameshwara responded to controveries, as per the report.
