The Hassan police arrested a history-sheeter who was wanted for stopping a private bus on the highway and smashing its windshield with a machete on Thursday.  The arrest took place following an intense manhunt. On the day of the incident, a rowdy-sheeter attacked a private bus with a machete after an altercation between the accused and the bus driver in connection with overtaking a vehicle, reported Times Now. 

The history-sheeter was identified as Manu. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, was captured on camera and widely circulated on social media. The viral footage showed Manu blocking a private bus on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway near Hassan by stopping his Maruti Suzuki Swift in front of it. He then stepped out, wielded a machete, and struck the windshield, shattering the glass. After the attack, he quickly fled the scene.

Based on the viral video and eyewitness accounts, Hassan police identified Manu and tracked him down, as per a report on The Hindu. When officers attempted to arrest him, he allegedly resisted, prompting them to open fire. Manu is currently receiving medical treatment under police watch.

A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to determine if he has links to other criminal activities.

In another shoot and arrest, Karnataka police arrested three people, after firing, in connection with a murder on Tuesday. When the police reached the place to arrest them, they reportedly tried to escape from the scene. Following this, the police fired them. In the impact, one the accused sustained leg injuries.
