Bengaluru traffic update: The traffic restrictions over the launch of the 65-metre composite girder across the Salem Bridge (railway crossing) by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd will continue in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The work disrupted traffic flow on Monday as well.

The work on the girder will take place between 9 PM and 6 AM near Doddanekkundi, close to Rainbow Hospital, within the jurisdictions of HAL Airport and Mahadevapura traffic police stations.

During these hours, traffic on one side of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) heading towards KR Puram will be closed. However, two-way traffic will be allowed on the other side of the road.

There will be restrictions on a 200-metre stretch of the left side of the road, from the ORR Marathahalli side towards Tin Factory, extending from Metro pillar 434 to pillar 435.

To avoid disruptions, drivers can take alternative routes. Vehicles travelling from Marathahalli towards Tin Factory and Hebbal should take a left turn near the Marathahalli bridge, head along HAL Airport Road, and then turn right at Suranjandas Road junction. From there, they can continue to NGEF junction, turn right again, and proceed towards Tin Factory and Hebbal.

Drivers coming from Tin Factory to Marathahalli should turn left near KR Puram railway station, travel along ITPL Road, take a right near Hoodi junction, and continue towards Marathahalli via Kundalahalli.

Congestion Around Freedom Park

Apart from this, the Bengaluru traffic department has asked commuters to be prepared for congestion around Freedom Park, owing to a protest. The protest is being held by the Karnataka State Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Organization.

"The protest will be held at Freedom Park from Tuesday and there is a possibility of traffic congestion around the Freedom Park. The public is advised to use alternative routes for commute," the traffic department said.
