Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday during the second day of his three-day visit to the poll-bound Karnataka offered prayers at Sri Chamundeshwari Devi Temple. Later in the day, Shah took a helicopter ride from Mysuru to Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar district and led a roadshow. Hundreds of supporters participated in the roadshow. The Bhartiya Janta Party is trying to put its best foot forward to woo the voters ahead of the state assembly as Karnataka remains the only southern state where the BJP is still in power. The party is trying to secure its second consecutive term in office.

A clip from the Union Minister's visit to the temple surfaced on social media.

In the clip, the priest was seen applying 'Tilak' on the Union Minister's forehead. Shah was then seen with folded hands and bowed his head while offering prayers. After the visit to the temple, he led the roadshow in Gundlupet.

After his roadshow in Gundlupet, Shah will then fly to Sakaleshpura where he will take out another roadshow to encourage party cadres from 3 pm to 4 pm. Following this, he will return to Mysuru from where he will fly in a special aircraft to Huballi. He will convene an Election Working Committee meeting with party leaders at a luxury hotel where he will stay the night as well.

Nadda's Visit To Karnataka

BJP president JP Nadda will embark on a three-day visit to Karnataka from Monday. He will be participating in a roadshow in Sidlaghatta, Chikkaballapur district. He is also expected to visit a temple at Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district and address several public meetings.

The party's mega-election campaign is likely to get a significant boost with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state on April 29.
