Six people were reported killed in a road accident in Jharkhand's Janshedpur after their car went uncontrolled and hit the divider, said the Jamshedpur police on Monday. A total of eight people, all residents of Adityapur were in the car at the time, the police said, adding that five people died on the spot while one died during the treatment.
Two survivors are critically injured and further investigation is underway, they added, as per PTI.
The accident occured near Circuit House Square under Bistupur police station area around 5 am, an officer said.
"Eight persons were traveling in a five-seater car, which first hit a road divider and then a roadside pole," said Jamshedpur Senior Superintendent of Police Kaushal Kishore.
"Five of them were killed on the spot, while three were taken to a hospital, where one more person succumbed to injuries while the remaining two are undergoing treatment," he added.
On Saturday, two people were killed in a road accident in the suburbs of Shimla after the vehicle they were travelling in ran off a road, said the police, as per PTI.

On Saturday, two people were killed in a road accident in the suburbs of Shimla after the vehicle they were travelling in ran off a road, said the police, as per PTI.
The accident took place at Shiv Temple near Dhalli tunnel and the duo were killed on the spot, they said.
The deceased were identified as Ritik (22) and Priyanshu (23), both residents of Chopal area in Shimla district, as per the above mentioned PTI report.
The police said the bodies were being extracted which will be then sent for postmortem and the investigation was underway to know the cause of accident.
